B and I completed this project over two days of B's respite visit. This project was B's request and as you can see, he LOVED building his very own arcade! B learnt a lot about the process of planning and building the arcade and felt such personal satisfaction of building something from scratch. If you have a project you would like to build, I would love to see how I can make that a reality! Please note: Safety is my highest priority with my clients. All power tools were operated by an adult in safe distance from participants.
One of my clients introduced me to Arduino microcontrollers. I have since been teaching myself through online tutorials and find teaching is something I really enjoy doing. My clients have loved creating working circuits and learning to code with a great sense of accomplishment. Not to mention these are such valuable skills to have in the current age of technology. Safety is my absolute priority when working with electronics but Don't worry, all the electronics we work with are safe and completely harmless due to their low DC voltage and current.
My client 'L' was incredible at picking up coding and while stopped at the traffic lights the same day, he noticed how they were quite a simple program and believed he could write the code himself. I believe him!
As a qualified Computer aided draftsman, I have really enjoyed exploring the free facilities at the Noosa and Cooroy library to learn and explore the world of 3D printing with my clients. I find Neurodivergent people like myself have a natural ability to create and design physical objects, and watching it come to life before your eyes is amazing for the inquisitive mind. Much to my amazement, within one session B was modelling and printing his very own creations!
