X-Camp is an independently run camping experience for NDIS participants of all ages. We provide a safe, fun, social environment for participants to get out of their normal environment, explore nature, make friends and be themselves!
X-Camp is hosted by a group of experienced independent disability support workers based on the sunshine coast. We are passionate about offering a camping experience that people will remember forever, with opportunities to learn and develop personal, social and practical skills. We strive to provide an environment for kids to feel accepted and comfortable with others of similar ages and disabilities.
All equipment, food and activities are provided. Just bring your personal belongings.

Kenilworth Homestead is a privately run outdoor education, family camping and function center, right on the bank of the beautiful Mary River and just 2km from the township of Kenilworth.The Mary River is a narrow, slow running, shallow, freshwater river meandering down the sunshine coast hinterland all the way to Maryborough. The campsite will be full of families camping alongside, so lots of opportunity to make friends. Kenilworth is about a 1 hours drive from anywhere on the sunshine coast making it a great central location.

X-Adventures is a service I created to offer once off outdoor adventure experiences to people with disabilities. Not every family has the time, skills or equipment to be able to take their children camping. I offer tailored, multi-night camping or single day adventures to wherever you may desire to venture. Below is some photos of our trip to Kenilworth Homestead with 'B' and 'L' with the helping hand of support worker 'Roddy'. The boys loved this adventure! We all loved the raft challenge, played laser tag, Kayaking, swimming, roasting marsh-mellows on the fire and having a good old laugh!
Unfortunately we were so busy having fun we didn't get many photos of our camping set up or other activities. We have a Jayco pop top caravan as base camp to provide all the creature comforts and safety away from insects or bad weather if necessary. You can only imagine the benefits these adventures provide participants! Just pack your personal essentials, we've got the rest. LETS GO CAMPING!
FAQ's
How much does this cost?
X-adventures is generally charged at Respite/STA rate as per the NDIS price guide. However if your plan doesn't have the provision for respite, then we are more than happy to work out other options.
Are you insured for camping?
Yes, our insurance policy does include camping. We also only camp at locations with their own adequate insurance.
Is there showers and toilets?
Yes, we understand the importance of personal hygiene and comfort, and will always camp where appropriate amenities are accessible.
